Caleb Leisure 'Ah Um' 2021

A very challenging vintage. Smoke and the threat of smoke in the foothills meant unusual harvesting times, uneven fermentations, and even trips to the distillery. This is normally one of the more elegant wines in the lineup. Not so in '21. Instead, here is a rustic co-ferment, with more volatility than previous vintages, with zippy acidity, bright red fruit, and the tinniest amount of RS. A compelling narrative of the year, and a very tasty if rough-around-the-edges chillable red. 

Co-fermented in qvevri, elevage in qvevri and stainless. No filtration, no fining, no sulfur.

Tasting Notes: Fresh light red, bright high-toned acidity, red fruit, savory and aromatic.
