Domaine Rietsch ‘Demoiselle’ Gewurztraminer 2022

Petite's notes: Yes yes yes. A true Grand Cru orange wine from one of Alsace's OG natural wine producers. He's 7th gen winemaker, and an early regional pioneer of macerating white grapes to make orange wine. This is as aromatic as they come yet bone dry. Subtly savory, umami notes underscore a blast of apricot, peaches, and nectarines. Killer. 

Gewurztraminer from Grand Cru Zotzenberg in Mittelbergheim (marl/limestone) & lieu dit Stierkopf in Mutzig (sandstone & limestone). 1/3 direct press, 2/3 whole cluster, 3 weeks maceration. Elevage in demi muid (press) and foudre (free run). Bottled April 2023.
