Grape Ink 'Nebbioso' Willamette Valley
Petite's notes: Ok so, we may be biased here. Winemaker Jarad Hadi is a pretty nice guy (and our first winemaker we hosted at Petite!). We also love a white and red co-ferment. AND a bonus is fun label artwork (painted by his wife, Giulia). Here he takes three grapes common to the Willamette Valley and makes something truly, completely singular. It is light on its feet i.e. crushable/chillable. Yet it is also nuanced. Each varietal is vertical - minerality from the Pinot Noir, bright acidity from the Pinot Gris, and some body from the Chardonnay. This was the first wine of Jarad's we tried and the one we fall for again and again. Throw a chill on it and drink with abandon or sip and savor. The choice is yours.
Winemaker’s note: “Utilizing old vines, Nebbioso was created in response to the original vineyards planted in the Willamette Valley. This project is an elixir of creativity created to find the space between white, red, and rosé through co-fermented field blends.
“Nebbioso remains a journey to capture the painting which it is inspired by. Bright aromatics and color are in the spotlight but the texture is always in the background, the wine is representative of fog as it is complex to understand but easy to share and enjoy.”
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir
