“Don’t try to do in the winery what you don’t do in the vineyard.” Following this idea, Sylvère Trichard makes natural wines on the 7 hectares of vineyards that his family owns in the village of Blace, in the heart of Beaujolais. More than just an artisan grower, the fruit is the priority in everything he does. His grapes are grown following organic principles, with limited production and, above all, taking into account the intrinsic needs of each grape variety. This is how he ends up with a beautiful grape in the winery where vinification happens by itself, without yeasts or sulphates to obtain crisp, light and lively wines.

Since 2012, Sylvère Trichard has been surprising us with natural wines that embody the new generation of natural Beaujolais winemakers. His Séléné Cuvée de Printemps is a single-variety Gamay, the region’s star variety, and every part of production is organic and biodynamic. In the winery, the grapes are vinified by carbonic maceration in whole bunches with native yeasts and the wine is bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphur, with few exceptions due to problems with the vintage.

Sylvère Trichard is led mainly through observation in the vineyard and presents us with a beautiful pleasure, the fruit of spring. Séléné Cuvée de Printemps is a red wine full of life, beauty and fruitiness. But beware! You will find it hard to resist.
